About Me

Growing up on Canada’s rugged west coast provided me ample opportunity to experience the power and force of the natural world. Since early childhood, my resonance with nature has provided a basis for the values and sense of direction that have emerged throughout the subsequent course of my life. In one of my earliest recollections, I am a toddler, sitting outdoors and observing my surroundings. It was a bright sunny day and I was sitting in front of a shrub covered in red berries, a haven for honey bees, and was enraptured by the sheer number of these golden creatures dancing around the berries.

My interest in health and wellbeing had manifested by the age of four, when I was determined that I was going to grow up to become a doctor. My parents had other designs however, so they enrolled me in a challenging course of studies through the local Suzuki Violin school. Between the ages of nine and fourteen, I was fortunate to take private lessons with the violinist, Sydney Humphreys, a friend and colleague of the famed violinist Yehudi Menuhin.  It was through Sydney that I discovered the incredible gift and potential of what being human means. Seeing his students as being capable of achieving incredible heights is what made him such a gifted teacher. Sometime later while working in the human service field, I realized I was still putting into practice what I had learned from Sydney.

Being conscious of the vast potential of humanity has enabled me to carry out my life’s work of helping others to help themselves. My early and emerging focus on nature and natural systems eventually propelled me from my work assisting disadvantaged people living on the streets of Victoria, to my work with Dr. Dino Paulos, who some call the “grandfather of biological dentistry” in Canada. As well as opening my eyes to the world of nutrition and the need to deal with the mental/ emotional aspects of serious illness, much of Dino’s work focused on the structural aspects of a person’s bite as contributing to illness. It was at Dino’s clinic that I began to find an emerging sense of fit with Chiropractic.

Today my life’s path has taken me to the outer fringes of Chiropractic medicine as I seek to impart to patients the idea that they can live a long and healthy life by having fresh air, clean water, good rest, healthy nutrition, regular exercise and Chiropractic care. Chiropractic care is essential in my view and I like to see people empowered by and having a more balanced nerve system, which helps them to live their life to the fullest. When you visit me at my clinic, I will be interested to hear any discoveries about your health that you’ve made and you’ll probably hear about the latest research I’ve read on good nutrition or exercise, as a keystone to a healthy body and life.
